We see this every day in the packing room through your actions. We see this every day in stories from our partners about hungry children who now have hope.

You have shown that real change is not only possible, but well worth the effort. That’s why we think you’ll be excited to hear the secret we’ve been keeping: FMSC is expanding!

FMSC’s Expansion Plans

In the past few years, FMSC has grown a lot (in fact, over 4000%!). But even with all this growth, we still have lots of volunteers waiting to pack, hundreds of food requests from partners waiting in our files, and thousands of kids who are still in need. We want to say “yes” to more hungry children. Feed My Starving Children needs to grow.

Our goal is to increase our annual capacity from 133 million meals (currently) to 235 million meals in the next two years. In order to reach this goal, FMSC will do three things:

• Maximize the number of meals our current 6 sites can produce.
• Grow our MobilePack program as large as we can.
• Build new permanent packing sites around the US.

We’re calling FMSC’s expansion the “Change the World” campaign. Our first expansion target: Chicago!

Change the World from Chicago

This past Friday, we held a Gala in Illinois, where our guests were the first to publicly hear about FMSC’s Change the World Campaign. We announced that, by expanding in Chicago through a $1.55 million campaign, FMSC will be able to:

1) Open our Schaumburg site full-time.
2) Open a new packing site – Chicagoland’s third – in the northern suburbs.

Making Schaumburg full-time and opening a new site will mean producing 71 million meals and welcoming 300,000 volunteers a year in Chicago. The great news: over half of the money needed for the Chicago expansion has already been raised by donors and our IL Gala attendees! Now, it’s time to work as a team to reach the goal and change the world from Chicago.
