Jack’s Free-Throw Fundraiser

For the third summer in a row, Jack Corcoran invited friends and family to help him raise support for FMSC by doing something he loves: basketball. Jack has volunteered with FMSC through MobilePack events at our church and has heard first-hand stories of what poverty looks like from his mom, a dear friend of mine, who has traveled to Liberia and Haiti. Through these experiences, Jack’s heart for the hungry began to grow.

Last summer’s fundraiser was a big deal for Jack–he raised over $3,000! This year, as several of us gathered in the gymnasium of our church campus, we watched and waited, asking ourselves the big question: Could he surpass that $3000 mark yet again?

In just one hour, Jack made 530 baskets. Twenty one families supported him with a donation per basket. $3,030 was raised, enough to provide over 13,000 meals. Jack, thank you once again for using your talents to turn hunger into hope.
